Nice pub to have drinks with lots your mates. Good variety of beers and Food is great as well. There is lots of sitting place, so feels cramped or crowded and has a good view of cathedral as well
I'd describe this place as one of the most friendly in Canterbury. Starting with the warm welcome, the staff are friendly and chatty.
We were seated in the back which is the area where they give you table service.
the waiter was rushed off his feet but he didn't forget about us and let us know the food was going to take longer than normal due to the big group that had just arrived. It didn't matter as see had all afternoon!
The house speciality pies are amazing. I had the beer and red wine, tender and cooked to perfection whilst my vegan friend had the vegan Lentil Cottage pie. Both delicious!
Prices are reasonable. Quality amazing. We will return!
Wonderful location, staff carefully asked about allergies, only when we were leaving nobody bothered to say good bye. Food was good, my ribeye steak was a bit chewy but it had been nicely marinated so the flavour was good. Ham and eggs was nicely juicy and aromatic. We liked our beers. Nice interior with references to the history of the place. The only shortcoming was the tables, which were sticky with beer and wet. Other than that, a lovely place.
